On June 25th, 2019 SW Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH celebrated the Grand Opening of the new Yongchuan factory. Multi-spindle machining centers from SW meet a rapidly rising demand in China. The new plant will provide highly productive metal cutting machines and complete manufacturing lines to automotive customers in the West of China.
On 22.05.2019 the German Liebherr Group celebrated the inauguration of the new factory in Yongchuan, Chongqing. Liebherr started to operate in China already in 1978. By now seven factories are spread all over the country. The new Yongchuan factory will be the first to produce gear cutting machines for customers in the automotive, machinery, energy and aerospace industries. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of prominent political and industry leaders, as well as the top management of Liebherr, Germany and attracted hundreds of customers and business partners.
Guests from Germany, Switzerland, China and even from India joined the 6th Machine Tool Breakfast on April 18th, 2019 at the occasion of the China International Machine Tool Show in Beijing. The event was organised by our partner, Hoene Consult, with the support of Phoenix Lake Industrial Park. Dr. Zhang Guo, District Head of Yongchuan personally gave an introduction, emphasizing on the growing importance of the western regions of China, in particular in light of the Belt and Road Initiative of the Chinese government.
"We strive at completing our new plant in just 18 months!". According to Chief Engineer, Zhang Yuzhen, the new factory of Great Wall Motors in Yongchuan, will be completed in record time. Since ground breaking on June 1st, 2018, over 50 % of the 2 billion CNY project have been invested already. Alle workshops are well on track and ahead of schedule.
On November 16th, 2018 the Yongchuan District Government and Changzhou Rui Yue Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. signed the investment agreement for an automobile body plant with a production capacity of 100,000 units per year. Rui Yue Automobile forms part of the Fuman Autoparts Group and supplies components to over 20 vehicle manufacturers in China including FAW, SAIC, Jianghuai, Futian, Jinlong, Great Wall, Huatai and BAIC. The planned investment amounts to 1 billion Yuan and will emcompass a comprehensive body plant including stamping and welding shops.

The giant online travel agency, Ctrip.com arranges flights to 5,000 cities worldwide and bookings at a staggering one million hotels. Day and night customers all around the world require individual support for special services or group travel arrangements. That is the task of the Ctrip.com Overseas Call Center in Yongchuan. Great Wall Motor Co. is the leading manufacturer of SUVs in China. Under the brands GREAT WALL, HAVAL and WEY the successful company sells cars, SUVs and pick-up trucks. Great Wall Motors has just started to build a new plant for their popular models Haval H9 and GW in Yongchuan, the fast growing industrial hub in Chongqing. The ground breaking ceremony was held on March 28th. At an investment of 8 bn CNY the new factory will cover an area of 400 hectares and establish an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles.
Multi-spindle machining centers from SW are widely used in the automotive industry all over China. The demand for highly productive equipment is growing rapidly, in particular in the booming Chongqing region. Therefore SW decided to set up a second production base in Yongchuan, in addition to the existing plant in Suzhou. General Manager SW Asia Ltd,, Mr. Norbert Wiest and Executive Vice Mayor, Mr. Wen Liang Yin signed the investment agreement on February 12th.

Save the date for the 5th MAV Innovation Forum China on 15.11.2018!
On September 13th, the first Sino-German Intelligent Education Forum was held in the Yongchuan disctrict of Chongqing. Speakers from China, Germany, Austria and Switzerland presented modern concepts for vocational education and training.
Yongchuan boasts 15 vocational and technical schools, colleges and universities. A selection of local and foreign educational institutions and companies complemented the Intelligent Education Forum by an impressive exhibition, displaying a broad array of educational content and related services. The Yongchuan municipal government hosted the event, and thus underlined the high priority of vocational education and training for the fast development of the city.
Xiyuan Camshaft is a flourishing manufacturer of automotive camshafts in Yongchuan.

On 07.12.2016 over 1000 participants from Chinese, German and Japanese companies gathered in the Yongchuan Culture and Art Center to discuss trends and opportunities for suppliers to the machine tool industry. Industry giant such as German Siemens and Schaeffler, as well as Japanese THK and Nachi were joined by representatives from nuomerous domestic and foreign medium-sized company, associations and scientific institutions.

Intelligent Manufacturing - Challenges and Opportunities for China's Auto Industry: Contributions from Continental, Changan, Xiyuan Camshaft and Kuka and a lively discussion at the occasion of the MAV Innovation Forum.
German-based EMAG stands for high precision and high performance in NC machine tools. Over 200 invited guests witnessed the successful opening of the new EMAG-plant in Yongchuan. The 6000 m2 factory will contribute to the continued growth of the EMAG-group in China. The first products made in Yongchuan were delivered already and have been well received by end users in Chongqing and Sichuan.
